Hello all,
It is with sad news that I have to share Azad Jaffer has passed away on April 27, 2022 at the age of 79.

There will be a funeral tomorrow, April 29, 2022. Please send an email to azad@rockngemshop if you would like the zoom link or wish to pay respects in person.

Good selection of tools and stones, and the best prices for my favourite stones that I've found anywhere in the city. I've been coming here for 20+ years, and I trust their advice, even if it isn't what I want to hear in the moment. Azad sold me my first pair of German made pliers, after steering me away from a cheaper pair when I was a poor student, and those pliers are now the longest lasting tool in my kit. They still work as well as the day I bought them. He also steered me away from buying unnecessary tools and instead showed me how to adapt what I already had. These 2 experiences alone, among so many, are why I keep coming back. I love this place.

Nice store, easy to find. Excellent selection of tiny polished and raw stones. I found the prices to be very reasonable. There were some stones as little as 25 to 50 cents. If you want a bigger showpiece item there are certainly plenty of options for that as well. Easy system where you write down the price of each item and put the rocks in a little plastic tub then bring them to the cash register. My sister will certainly be thrilled with her Christmas present and we'll be back. Could easily spend an hour or 2 just browsing the selection!

Found some blue and tangerine quartz here. I have never heard of these before and I got them for a great price. I am so happy I found these. They are absolutely beautiful. Best wishes to the family.
